Little boy blue, stick out your chest!
Dry your eyes for you are a man;
forged to resist sticks and stones that
would break the weaker sex.

Born to conquer a world
carved in your image, ripe with fruits
planted for your pleasure;
pick and plunder as you please.

Stretch your arms and marvel at how
they cover all parts of this roaming plain,
and should your arms begin to falter,
push, and push again, as is your right.

Step forth and watch as your feet trample
on the heads of the serpent and the lion,
grown weak and  weary under the foot
of Pharoh’s first born son.

Dominion over God’s crafted creatures,
servant hands sprung forth from rib,
made docile, gracious and fragile, still,
to make or unmake, take and break as you please.

Little boy blue, stick out your chest!
Stand strong under that ancient sky
placed on your shoulders by boys like you,
lest your weakness bury you alive.
